Betty M. Goldstein

Betty M. Goldstein passed away peacefully in Reno, NV on April 25, 2022 at the age of 101 years.

She was the oldest of 5 children, Don, Barbara, David and Dale, born to Herman and Gladys Towers in Riverside, CA. Betty was preceded in death by her father, mother, sister, brothers, husband Ralph, son Michael and grandson Eric.

She is survived by daughters Julie Coleman, (Doug) Terry Rhodes, (John) and daughter in law Nancy Goldstein. Grandchildren; David, (Abby), Brian, (Lisa), Ashley, (Anthony), Glenn, (Tatiana), Gregory, Matthew and Ashley,(Aaron).

Great grandchildren; Noa, Madison, Thomas, Bennjamin, Natalie, Vale and Kinley. Also nieces, nephews, and numerous friends in CA and NV.

On June 21, 1943 she married the love of her life Ralph M. Goldstein. He had a law practice in Los Angeles, CA. They settled in West Covina, CA to raise their 3 children Michael, Julie and Terry. Betty was very active in Camp Fire Girls, PTA, Hope House and planting hundreds of trees at Galster Park in West Covina.

After Michael, Julie and Terry graduated high school she and Ralph moved to Lake Tahoe. 16 years later she and Ralph moved to Minden, NV.

Betty was an avid seamstress, quilter and knitter. She was very generous with her talents; knitting caps for soldiers in Afghanistan, sewing quilts for Veterans at Walter Reed Hospital, chemo caps for cancer patients, baby quilts for WIC and CASA and lap quilts for seniors at the community center in Gardnerville. At Christmas she crafted beautiful gifts for her family and friends.

After Ralph passed away in 1997 Betty decided to get a job. She worked at Douglas High School serving lunch to the students, tutored at Jacks Valley Elementary and Kumon. She loved volunteering and taught quilting and knitting to anyone who wanted to learn.

She was laid to rest near her husband and son on April 29th at Eastside Memorial Cemetery.

There will be a celebration of her amazing life on Sat. June 25th at 11:00 am at the home of Doug and Julie Coleman in Minden
