Frances “Fran” Arlene Travis, late of Fallon, Nevada, passed away on October 12, 2023.
Frances was born on February 18, 1949, in Fallon, Nevada, and graduated from Rancho High School in Las Vegas, Nevada. She married Terry Orzech in Las Vegas in 1967. They divorced in 1994 but stayed good friends. For 39 years, she dedicated her life to being a foster parent. Frances transformed the lives of countless foster children by helping them become successful adults.
As someone who was always there for others, Fran could be counted on to be a listening ear to anyone in need. Her family was her pride and joy, and she could always be found talking about her grandchildren. In her free time, Fran loved to bowl and sew and enjoyed scary movies and crime shows.
Fran is survived by her ex-husband Terry Orzech. Children: Robyn (Roy Shuman), Racheal, Travis (Theresa Orzech), Crystal (Mike Bennett), and Shea Travis. Grandchildren: Angela, Aleah (Jay), Joel, Kent, Blake, Amber, and Raymond. Great-grandchildren: Vanessa, Levi, and Isla. Frances was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Travis and Ora Mae Travis; her siblings, Larry Travis and Edith; and her child Terry Orzech Jr.
Frances’ funeral will be held on October 20, 2023, at 9am at the Churchill County Cemetery. After the service, there will be a Celebration of Life at the Elks Hall.
