The Douglas County Parks & Recreation Department will offer a song writing class for ages 15 and up. This class will help participants develop the fundamental tools of writing lyrics and music and will also combine music lyrics to create good songs. This course will help the poet with music and the musician with lyrics.
Instructor Ted Dollarhide holds a masters and doctorate degree in music composition from the University of Michigan and was a professor of music composition for more than 20 years. Class will be held July 24 through Aug. 28 on Mondays from 7:30-9:30 p.m. at the Recreation Annex Building in Gardnerville. Cost is $48 for six weeks.
