Anita Gail (Denny) Mahoney, 83, passed away, peacefully at home on Oct. 26, 2022.
Anita was born on May 16, 1939 in Red Lake, Minnesota. She graduated from Bemidji High School in 1957 and from St. Gabriel’s Nursing School in 1960. She was married to her first husband Roger Johnson from 1960 -1969. They had 3 children. She then married her 2nd husband Ronald Mahoney Sr. on May 28, 1971 in Las Vegas, Nevada and they had a son. They raised their children in Cerritos, California. Anita had many passions and interests. She worked as an RN for Kaiser Permanente for 32 years. She was a Camp Fire Girls Leader, square dancer, line dancer, quilter, avid gardener, and spider solitaire player. She enjoyed traveling with her husband Ron and they went on many cruises together. She was a great cook and loved making special desserts for her family. Her greatest passion was for her family who she loved immensely.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert & Iyone (Brown) Denny and grandson Kyle McNeley. Survived by husband Ron Mahoney Sr., 4 children: Kimberly (Bob Dearwester) Barrie, Michael (Sabina) Johnson, Michelle (Kevin) McNeley, and Ron Mahoney Jr. 8 grandchildren: Parker Barrie, Donald (Maili) Palmer, Tiffany (Billy) Callahan, Mikey Johnson, Karie McNeley, Kelsie McNeley, Kalaya (Jordan) Simon, and Shoshana Mahoney. 5 great grandchildren: Yvelisse Mahoney, Raynor Simon, Ava Simon, Delila Meraz and James Higashiyama, brother: Hubert Gerald Denny, sister: Chari (Rob) Veloon and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration Of Life will be held on Thursday, Nov. 3 at 1pm at Eastside Memorial Park in Minden.
