Man faces five years in restaurant burglary

A former employee of Cook’d faces five years in prison for petty grand larceny of the restaurant.

Sean Andrew Maxwell, 47, was arrested Aug. 20 after he broke into Cook’d and stole $831 from cash registers and caused destruction and damage.

According to court documents, when the owners of the restaurant were asked if they suspected anyone, and they implicated Maxwell. They said he had been employed with them and had returned to the building acting strange.

Blood was found at the scene, and Maxwell had several cuts on his hands.

An off-duty deputy spotted Maxwell going into the Tractor Supply and knowing that Carson authorities were looking for Maxwell in connection with burglaries there, called for backup. After Maxwell came out of the store, he was arrested and found with tire repair supplies and a flashlight stuffed down his pants that apparently came from the store. Deputies also found $429.95 in cash.

Sentencing is set for Jan. 29.

• A man and woman involved in a high-speed pursuit in April face original charges and four years in prison after violating conditions of probation and diversion.

Jessica Lynn Demarco, 23, was arrested on April 15 with co-defendant Adam Roy Hetzler. Both are in custody.

Hetzler, 40, led deputies on a chase from a Gardnerville restaurant, where they were reported to be severely intoxicated to Airport Road, where they were pulled over.

A vehicle search revealed drugs and paraphernalia in plain sight and reach.

Hetzler was granted diversion Aug.7 and was returned to court Thursday for violation of the terms. He is being held without bail pending sentencing which is set for Jan. 22.

Demarco was granted a suspended sentence Nov. 6 and is being held without bail pending a probation violation hearing set for Jan. 22.
