Waterline break closes Douglas college campus

A water line break has forced today's classes at the Douglas campus of Western Nevada Community College Douglas campus to be cancelled.

Classes should reconvene on Monday, but students are advised to check by calling 782-2413.

"One of our maintenance guys was turning on an irrigation line on an outside valve and something broke," Mark Davis, WNCC assistant director of facilities said. "This is a protective measure so we don't encounter any further issues."

According to Davis, a local contractor has been called in to handle the situation. "We do not have the proper tools to repair the problem," Davis said. "The contractor will work through the weekend to try to get this fixed so we can be open on Monday."

All other WNCC locations remain open.
