The R-C morning report

Until they get something saying otherwise, Douglas County is moving forward with a Heller-Derby election.

Sharron Angle's race for the House of Representatives will go before a judge on Friday and ask that a new election be held. Angle is suing her opponent, Secretary of State Dean Heller, who won the election by just over 400 votes in Carson City District Court.

This is all pretty interesting, since Heller didn't run the election and Angle's claiming it was Washoe County that messed it up.

Douglas Clerk Treasurer Barbara Griffin-Reed said she will keep an eye on what's happening in the case, but unless she gets a court order, she's moving forward with what's in front of her.

A fire in Topaz Ranch Estates would still be burning had firefighters not arrived quickly and squashed it.

Conditions out there are so dry that is just takes a spark to set the brush ablaze, so be careful with fire.

The National Weather Services Climate Prediction Center is showing that the next three months will be warmer and dryer than average.

Today's weather will be both warm and dry, with the high hitting 84 and no chance of precipitation. A light chance of rain in some form is expected over the weekend.
