Road rage report yields stolen vehicle

A Redding, Calif., man was arrested Feb. 13 after an alleged road rage incident turned up a stolen vehicle.

The sheriff's office was contacted by a motorist who said a vehicle with a male driver and female passenger was south on Highway 395 near Waterloo Lane.

He said the driver was traveling 75 miles per hour in a 35-mph zone and crossing between lanes.

The reporting party followed the car into Service Drive where he was confronted by the driver and his passenger.

By the time deputies arrived, the suspect was parked behind a building in the Industrial Park.

Jesse James King, 27, was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of stolen property and reckless driving.

Deputies found a hand-held terminal worth $1,500 in the car which was reported stolen from Redding.

According to deputies, King has an extensive criminal history including arrests for theft, taking a motor vehicle without the owner's permission, residential burglary, robbery and assault. The report said King committed three moving violations within one mile including speeding, passing on the right shoulder and failure to yield right of way.

He is to appear in East Fork Justice Court on Feb. 22.

King is in Douglas County Jail on $20,632 bail.
