The Sierra Sagebrush Flyers is hosting their 12th annual open house from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 17. The flying field is located at the end of Pinenut Road right next to Douglas County Disposal.

Visiting pilots are encouraged to sign up to perform demonstration flights which display their talents with various types of model aircraft for all in attendance. Some of the different types of craft include racing, scale aircraft, sport flying, fun-fly planes and helicopters.

Lunch will offer barbecued hamburgers, Polish dogs, hot dogs, chili and all of the condiments and accessories. The cost of lunch is by donation. The funds will be used to support various charities and field maintenance.

The flying field will open officially at 8 a.m. The public is invited to see what the hobby is all about. Participation is encouraged with assistance from the pilots. There will be trainer planes and "buddy boxes" with assistance from club pilots for beginners and kids are encouraged to fly.

There will be a static display area to show off the club's best and finest models. There will be a $5 landing fee for all pilots excluding the trainer cord event. For more information contact Al Messer 782-3204 or Mike Walsh 782-2746.
