Dentist Wendel Murdock sports scrubs in the colors of the school of dentistry he graduated from - the cardinal red and gold of the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, - but considers himself a Nevadan.
"I've been in Nevada for 40 years," Murdock said, "I went to college in Reno and have lived in Douglas County for 30 years."
Murdock is the new dentist in town but had a practice at Lake Tahoe for 25 years. He took over Dr. David Lund's office on Esmeralda Avenue in Minden.
Murdock is experienced in all phases of general and restorative dentistry - bonding, veneers, cosmetic whitening.
"The cosmetic things are fun to do because people notice a big change," he said.
He said people are conscious of their appearance these days and even consider plastic surgery.
"Make-overs are popular on TV and people have learned a lot - that more procedures are available, but not exactly what can be done for them," said Murdock. "They desire youthfulness, but don't always know what we can do."
Murdock said he and his great staff in the cozy office in the old house on 1637 Esmeralda Ave., could let people know what can be done for them.
