Fundraiser for Smith Valley resident Aug. 25

Smith Valley business owners and residents are pulling together to support 20-year-old Alicia Marriott's battle with breast cancer. Marriott has been diagnosed with stage one cancerous cysts and is the subject of a fundraising event Aug. 25.

Kelly's Personality Cuts and Debbie's Creative Styles are sponsoring a Hair Cutting-A-Thon to raise money for Marriott's medical treatments. All of the money received from haircuts will be donated. Pedicures by Kimmy will be offered at Debbie's Creative Styles.

Buckboard General Store is donating 10 percent of deli sales during the fundraiser.
