Juan Gutierrez Cruz

1978-2007

A funeral mass will be 1 p.m. Friday at St. Gall Catholic Church for Juan Gutierrez Cruz, 28, who died June 9, 2007, in Sparks. Mr. Cruz was a resident of Minden for 22 years.

Mr. Cruz was born Oct. 30, 1978, in Guadalajara, Mexico, to Joaquin and Esther Cruz. He was a high school graduate and attended two years of college at Cerro Coso Community College and was employed by Granite Construction. He was a member St. Gall Catholic Church. He loved baseball and other outdoor sports but baseball was his number one.

Mr. Cruz was preceded in death by Miguel and Ramon Gutierrez of Mexico. He is survived by his girlfriend Monica Martinez of Sparks; his stepdaughter Adriana Rodriguez of Sparks; his parents Joaquin and Esther Cruz of Minden, sister Ivone Cruz, brother David Cruz, niece Joanna Velazquez and nephew Diego David Velazquez.

Arrangements are in the care of Walton's Douglas County Mortuary. A rosary will be said 5 p.m. Thursday at St. Gall Catholic Church. Burial will take place in the Mottsville Cemetery.
