ValleyVibrations

A marketing group sent me the latest CD, "How About Now," by Kenny Loggins. I had forgotten how good his music is since it had been so long since I heard him. In the 1980s I went to see him perform at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley, Calif. I then had a brief stint of living in a coed dorm where I drowned out the sounds of students playing floor hockey on the floor above me by putting on headphones every night and listening to the peaceful acoustic sounds of Loggins on tape.

If anybody ever liked the music of Loggins before, I think you would appreciate his new CD. It surprised me that the second song on the CD is a re-recording of "A Love Song."

Loggins will be on tour this summer, with many appearances across the U.S., the closest one at Homewood Mountain Resort in Homewood on the west shore of Lake Tahoe on July 24. For more information, visit www.KennyLoggins.com.

Until next week, keep on playin!'

Remember, to keep this going, I have to hear from you. Just a little e-mail (jrafferty@recordcourier.com) or a phone call (782-5121, ext. 210) or even a fax (782-6152) is all I need to put your musical entertainment information in this column at no charge to you. If you send it, I'll even try to get a photo in to go with it. Details are needed by noon on Wednesday.
