Minden Village throws beach party

The businesses of the Minden Village and the Carson Valley Chamber are teaming up to put on their second annual summer event on June 21 at 5 p.m. to raise funds for Austin's House and Carson Valley Arts Council. This year's event will have a "Beach Party" theme complete with palm trees, straw beach hats, longboards and tiki bracelets. The event will take place in the parking lot of the Minden Village, located off Highway 395 in Minden.

Attendees of the event can enjoy wine tasting, barbecue, beach games, dunk tanks, free food and ice cream, music by Playa Papaya and a scavenger hunt for a chance to win a shopping spree at Sierra Nevada Trading Company. Proceeds from the sale of wine glasses and tiki bracelets and additional donations will benefit the Carson Valley Arts Council and Austin's House.

All Minden Village businesses will participate including, Artisans International, 88 Cups, Sierra Nevada Trading Company, Wasabi's, Bella Vita, Lake Tahoe Mortgage, Coldstone Creamery, AG Edwards, Charles Schwab and the Business Bank of Northern Nevada along with many other businesses in Minden Village, which now numbers 30, including the recently moved Curves and Village Barber (Dee Goodman). Sponsors of the event include Mediation and Management, JM Clouser and Associates, First American Title, Tahoe Basin Container Service, Douglas Disposal and Alpine Medical. The list of sponsors and participants continues to grow and will be continuously updated as the event draws nearer.

The Minden Village was founded in 2005 and is a collaborative effort among all of the businesses to create an enjoyable environment for all who visit the area while giving back to the community through charitable donations and events.
