Carson Valley Art Association's scholarship show a success

The members of the Carson Valley Art Association would like to thank the merchants, artists and individual community members who, through their donations, helped make the 2007 Carson Valley Art Association's Scholarship Benefit Show a huge success.

The annual show was held in the CVIC Hall in Minden, Nov. 2-4. This show generates the money to offer scholarships each June to graduating art students from Douglas County high schools. The entry fees from artists entering their fine art and the commissions on the fine art sold are but a part of the support. The sale of art materials, donated by the artists and individuals from the community, are sold at the flea market table. One of the major sources is the raffle of prizes donated by local businesses and individuals. CVAA gives its heartfelt thanks to all the artists and donors that enable CVAA to offer the scholarships.

Samples of the 2007 scholarship recipients work were shown during the show. The recipients were Ryan Bivens and Tiffany Costantini from Whittell High and Lauren Miller and Kevin Roberts from Douglas High School.
