Girls' Soccer: Carson trips up Douglas

The Carson Senators girls' soccer team pulled away with a 5-2 win over Douglas Tuesday night in Carson City.

Carson put the first four goals on the board before Douglas' Dany Heidt was able to break through in the 53rd minute with a penalty kick goal.

Nicole Didero scored on a free kick 13 minutes later to draw the Tigers' within two, but Carson's Brandi Vega scored in the 71st minute to put the game away.

"We had a good second half," Douglas coach Lorraine Fitzhugh said. "It was a great game on Carson's part.

"I'm proud of both teams."

Douglas dropped to 8-4 overall and 5-2 in Sierra League play with the loss.
