Dance for the cure

The May Day Dance for the Cure is 7:30-11:30 p.m. today at Carson Valley United Methodist Church, 1375 Centerville Lane, Gardnerville. Dance to music from '60s, '70s, '80s and beyond. Cemetery work day

Sertoma bingo

Carson Valley Sertoma Community Bingo is the first Saturday of the month at the Douglas County Senior Center, 2300 Meadow Lane, Gardnerville. Doors open at 11 a.m., early bird at 12:30 p.m., regular session at 1 p.m. Progressive blackout on Saturday will be $500 with 53 numbers or less. Drawing for raffle prizes. Family sweet night out

Topaz Sagehens rummage sale

The Topaz Sagehens' 33rd annual rummage sale is 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 9 and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 10 at the Topaz Ranch Estates Community Center, 33904 Carter Way, Wellington. Chili dogs, hot dogs, soft drinks, coffee, bake sale items, homemade candy and salsa for sale. Raffle prizes. Donation drop-off 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Bluesage Storage, unit 92.
