Flash finds a home

Jessica Nalder, Carson Valley FFA

Special to The R-C

As some of you may remember, the Carson Valley FFA had a colt named Flash that was raised by a couple of girls in the FFA for their SAE project.

Once Flash got older, he went to Aaron Leising's home where he has been since. It was up to Aaron to start this colt. Aaron is 17 and an active member of the FFA.

When Aaron got him, Flash had already been ground friendly because of the girls who worked so well with him beforehand. As soon as Flash got big enough to hold a rider, Aaron didn't waste any time getting started.

When Aaron first put a saddle on Flash, Flash clipped his leg while bucking, and couldn't do anything except heal for a few months. By March 2009, Aaron was on his back, Flash not even being three yet.

Aaron rides Flash as often as he can, and is always teaching Flash something new. Although Flash is known to buck when you use spurs on him, Aaron sees great potential in the future with him. Currently Flash is a little over 15 hands and will be three in October.

Aaron's future plan for Flash is for him to be an all-around ranch horse. Whether you are roping off of him or just pleasure riding, Aaron hopes he will get him there successfully.
