Girls' Basketball: Douglas falls late against McQueen

The Douglas girls' basketball team suffered a narrow defeat at the hands of the McQueen Lancers in the first round of the High Sierra Winter Classic Thursday afternoon.


The Tigers trailed 27-17 at the half but outscored the Lancers 15-8 in the third quarter to close the gap.


Douglas tied the game up in the fourth, but McQueen sank a shot as time expired to steal away with the win.


Ne'Jae Jackson led the Tigers with nine points, Diana Regalado had seven, Alex Laing and Bri Burnside each had six, Katie Dry had five, Erica Macias had four, Jackie Harper had two and Susie White had one.


Douglas dropped to 1-3 on the year with the loss.
