Ruhenstroth Congress should be subject to same laws

EDITOR:

First I want to say Merry Christmas to one and all.

Next, this short comment is from a letter to the editor in the Elko Daily Free Press.

Lillian McMahen wrote in her letter, "Also, I would propose a 28th Amendment to the Constitution as follows: 'Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens that does not apply equally to senators or representatives, and Congress shall make no laws that applies to senators or representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the United States of America.'"

I think Lillian may be on the right track. Maybe this would remind our elected officials who put them into their position, who is paying them, and who they represent. This is not just about them.

I realize this is not an easy process, but maybe if enough citizens wrote or called their senators and representatives and requested this, it might happen.

God bless America and our troops.
