A funeral service is 1 p.m. Saturday at FitzHenry's Funeral Home in Gardnerville for former Minden resident Marjorie M. Loreno, 83, who died in Gladstone, Ore., on March 25, 2010.
Born Feb. 9, 1927, in Portland, Ore., she grew up in Oregon and lived in foster homes until she was 7 years old.
She married Chris Loreno Nov. 20, 1946, and the couple moved to North Hollywood, Calif., where he got a job with Universal Studios and she worked as a relay adjuster for Gunderson Electric Inc.
The couple moved to Minden in 1989. She suffered a stroke in April 2008 and moved to Oregon for rehabilitation.Â
She was preceded in death by her husband, Chris Loreno, on Dec. 28, 2003, and brothers Thomas Mills, Robert Mills and John York.
