Easy to spend other people's money

EDITOR:

The county commissioners are sure on a fast track to pass the 3 percent hotel room tax hike. Quick, before the people get wind of it - where have we heard that before? Ah, but this tax won't affect us, we're told, just those pesky out-of-towners who come to spend their money here.

Maybe now they'll go away. Meanwhile, the county has contracted a "social networking" firm to the tune of $105,000. Sounds like a real necessity. It's amazing what you can do with other people's money.
