Safeway event helps raise $1,600 for people with disabilities

Tahoe celebrities and media helped raise more than $1,600 on April 24 at the South Lake Tahoe Safeway store during a fundraising event for Easter Seals, Special Olympics and Autism organizations.

The event was part of the company's month-long People with Disabilities fundraising campaign.

Guest grocery baggers included Mayor Pro Tem Hal Cole, KRLT-FM DJ Howie Nave and Tahoe Daily Tribune General Manager Kimberly Kuntz.
