'Once Upon A Mattress' enters final weekend

This is the last weekend to see "Once Upon A Mattress," being performed at Pau-Wa-Lu Middle School in the Gardnerville Ranchos.

Theater Of Arts Discipline Director Rich Garrett said last weekend's show went well.

"The kids were ready four days prior to opening," he said. "All they needed was an audience, and boy did they deliver."

The show runs 1 hour 10 minutes and is based on the story of the "Princess and the Pea."

"Everyone from the smallest knight on stage all the way up to the lead princess are having fun, and it shows," Garrett said. "Everyone who's seen the show has remarked on how impressed they are with these kids."

There are plenty of tickets available, Garrett said.

"Every time we do one of these is reaffirms that we're doing the right thing," Garrett said of TOAD.

"The kids love performing and the adults love the kids performing."

"Once Upon A Mattress," showtimes are 7 p.m. today and Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday, at Pau-Wa-Lu Middle School. Tickets are $10 adults, and $8 for students and seniors. Information, toadinc@gmail.com or (775)219-3577.
