Alice Ann Johnson

A memorial service was Tuesday for the sister of Record-Courier columnist Marie Johnson in Lake Crystal, Minn.

Alice Ann Johnson, 48, of Mankato and formerly of Le Sueur, died Jan. 15, 2010, at her home.

Born in Dawson, Minn. on Oct. 7, 1961, to Bona Jean Larsen and Marlyn Clifford Johnson. She was confirmed at First Lutheran Church in Le Sueur and graduated from Le Sueur High School in 1980. Ms. Johnson had been employed by Great Paper Co., Le Sueur Public Schools, and MRCI. She was an avid reader, a movie buff especially science fiction, and making crafts at the 2nd Step Clubhouse.

Ms. Johnson was preceded in death by her mother, Bona on Oct. 29, 2001; maternal grandparents Willie C. and Blanche (Samuelson) Larsen; paternal grandparents Clifford and Blanche (Elkins) Johnson.

She is survived by father Marlyn of Gardnerville; sisters and brother-in-laws Bonnie Johnson and Edwin Merkel of Valley Center, Kan., and Marie Johnson and Kent Neddenriep of Gardnerville; niece Julia Galstad and spouse, Lacey Huebel of Santa Barbara, Calif.; nephews, Kyle and Bradley Neddenriep of Gardnerville; also numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Burial will be in Lake Crystal Cemetery, next to her paternal grandparents.
