Thieves steal bunting from Minden gazebo

Thieves took $500 worth of patriotic bunting from the Minden Park gazebo over the July 4 weekend.

According to a report filed with the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, eight sections of red, white and blue bunting with gold grommets were taken from the gazebo railings in Minden Park.

The loss was discovered at 7 a.m. Tuesday when a town employee arrived for work.

The zip ties that attached the buntings to the railings appeared to be cut.

The buntings were valued at $61.80 each for a loss of $494.80.

Several weeks ago, vandals set a series of fires in the men's restroom.
