Get ready to dance in the meadow

Dancin' Shoes Entertainment presents the Music in the Meadows all-age festival, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, on Big Sky Trail, off Jacks Valley Road in Minden. Gates open at 10:30 a.m.

Acts for Music in the Meadows are rock and soul dance band Izabella, Groove Session playing rock/funk/jazz, Reno band Jelly Bread, GrooveBox and Adient Zoo from South Lake Tahoe, and Foothill Road from Genoa.

There will be continuous entertainment with in-between acts. Be ready to dance.

Bring your own picnic, but there will also sales of food, drinks, water and alcohol beverages. No outside alcohol, no glass and no pets. Bring your own lawn chairs or blankets. Portable restrooms will be on site.

Event organizer Kyle Miller is encouraging people to bring E-Z Up tents or canopies for a designated shade area. Come prepared to enjoy the day in an open range meadow, which means bring hats, sun block, and bug spray.

Cost is $12, or $15 after Friday. Ticket purchases and maps are available at musicinthemeadows.com, or in Gardnerville at Tuscany Tan, 1456 Highway 395, and Cafe Girasole, 1483 Highway 395; Nick n' Willies Take n Bake Pizza, 751 Tillman Lane, Gardnerville Ranchos; and the UPS Store; 963 Topsy Lane, Carson City. Tickets will be available at the gate.

A portion of proceeds will be donated to Douglas County Pop Warner Football.
