The R-C Morning Report

We had a little bit of excitement at around 6 p.m. Wednesday when a wildfire and an accident were called in within a few minutes of one another. The wildfire turned out to be a single tree on BLM land north of Jackwright Pass near the Douglas-Lyon county line. While firefighters were working on the fire, an accident occurred on Highway 395 at Ray May Way involving three vehicles. It sounded bad on the front end, but turned out to be less so, with a single person evaluated by medics and then refusing treatment.

Minden Town Board members are meeting 7 a.m. today to discuss bids for construction of the Buckeye Road-East Valley Water Line improvements. The lowest responsive and responsible bidder is V&C Construction, according to staff. The bid is $772,729, the meeting is at the CVIC Hall.

Today is expected to be sunny with a high temperature in the low 90s. A breeze will pick up later today, but not much of one. Going into the weekend will warm up a little during the day, but a lot more at night as thunderstorms bring some cloud cover to keep the nights warm.
