The R-C Morning Report

I'm told about 70 people turned out at Thursday's water company consolidation meeting on Thursday night. People got their say, but there wasn't as much public comment as you'd think there might be, under the circumstances. Commissioners didn't take any action. We'll have a full report later today.

Today is the last day to vote early in Tuesday's primary election. Early voting on Thursday broke the record for this election with 530 people casting ballots, bringing the total to 3,842. Figure another 300 or so today, and that will bring turnout for early voting up to around 12 percent of the electorate, or double the numbers reported statewide.

Douglas High School graduation is 5:30 p.m. The odds that it will rain decrease at about 4 p.m., not that they're particularly high today at 30 percent. It's warm out though with winds 10-15 mph and gusts of up to 25 mph, so don't stand downwind when graduates throw their hats up, or you might get pelted.

The National Weather Service has issued a variety of statements that it is warm out and the snowpack will finally be melting off into the streams. There might be some minor flooding along the West Fork if the rain actually arrives. Mottsville Lane will bear the brunt, and may have water over it. I'll go into work that way this morning and see what I can see.
