Tahoe take back in the cellar

The Stateline casinos showed another big loss in April compared to the same month in 2009.

According to figures released by the Gaming Control Board on Wednesday, casinos took in $12.5 million, a 20.79 percent decrease over April 2009's $15.78 million.

The loss brings Stateline to within $4 million of the combined take of Carson Valley and Carson City casinos, which took in $8.6 million, for a 5.32 percent increase over the previous year.

Stateline's casinos are the chief source of gaming revenue for Douglas County. April 2010 saw the lowest gaming win in years.

Gaming statewide was down 5.7 percent, according to the state.
