Jon Washington's Sounds of the Fortunes plays Friday and Saturday in the Carson Valley Inn's new Cabaret Lounge.
In the 1960s British invasion group the Fortunes had hit recordings of "You've Got Your Troubles I've Got Mine," "Here Comes That Rainy Day Feeling Again" and "Seasons in the Sun" that topped the music charts.
In the 1990s Washington formed Jon Washington's Sounds of the Fortunes as a tribute to his old bandmates. Washington and his band, which includes Mel Anderson and Don Beck, performs these and other hits of the '60s and '70s in two shows at 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. nightly.
Entertainment hours at the Carson Valley Inn are 6-11:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 7 p.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday. All Cabaret Lounge entertainment is presented with no cover change and no drink minimum.
