The R-C Morning Report

The State of the County starts at 6 p.m. tonight and features a speech by former State Archivist Guy Rocha and is billed as a celebration of Douglas County's achievements. The event will take place at the CVIC Hall in Minden. There will be refreshments.

We had some strong winds and a pretty damp night on Friday. Sheridan Acres reported a 57-mph wind gust at about 1:46 p.m. Ebbett's Pass snow telemetry showed 10 inches of additional snow over the weekend, with 1.5 inches of moisture.

The seasonal drought outlook issued by the National Weather Service is showing that much of Western Nevada is showing improvement in its drought condition, which is a good sign. The northwestern corner of the state is showing in drought, but that its improving as well.

We're in for a nice last week of winter as highs climb toward 70 degrees under sunny skies at least for the first few days. It's pretty chilly out this morning with 24 degrees in Minden and Genoa, and 26 degrees in the Gardnerville Ranchos.
