ASPIRE program helped

EDITOR:

I would like to share with you a special school for high school students

having trouble with school, homework and choices. It is called the ASPIRE

program. It stands for All Students Pursuing Integrity, Responsibility and

Education.

My son was struggling in high school. He was getting in trouble with his

teachers, being disrespectful and not doing his homework. He had failing

grades and was one year behind. He was accepted into the ASPIRE program

where students use a computer based program for academics but are also

required to take a character education class. The teachers and staff are

great. They respect the students and my son has great respect for them. Now

my son takes pride in his work. His grades are above average and he is

working hard to graduate.

ASPIRE also has the students do community service. They help those in need.

At the Carson Valley museum, the students painted a billboard and landscaped

the area. The mural is a tribute to students that have passed away too soon.

They had a special ceremony for family and friends. They have also painted a

mural inside a building in the Gardnerville Ranchos that provides a safe

place for kids to go after school to do homework, have snacks and hang out.

They have also done other projects to help those in need over the holidays.

ASPIRE school, thanks for all that you have done in changing the course of

education.
