David Peltier

A memorial service is 3 p.m. Thursday at the CVIC Hall in Minden for Pleasant Valley resident David Peltier, 70, who died March 28, 2010, at his home. John Ruby is leading the proceedings.

Born Sept. 11, 1939, in Elsie, Mich., to Howard and Ruth Peltier, he earned an American Institute of Banking degree and spent many of his professional years as an auditor of banks and casinos.

He served in the Nevada Air Guard and as a volunteer with the Tahoe Rim Trail Association.

Mr. Peltier celebrated his 70th birthday with many trips and his 40th wedding anniversary before suffering a major heart attack on Jan. 19. He returned home after two months in the hospital.

He was a life-long Methodist. Among his primary interests were his family, friends, and his church, followed closely by traveling, outdoor activities, music, watching sports, and volunteering.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy Storke Peltier; son Chris; daughter, Elise; brother Lynn (Hazel); brother Gary (Terri); sister Barbara (Bruce) Nash; and brother-in-law Bob Storke; and many nieces and nephews.

Donations may be made to the Tahoe Rim Trail Association in Peltier's name and sent to 948 Incline Way, Incline Village, NV 89451.

Interment will be in Gardnerville Cemetery.
