Juvenile party results in citations

An intoxicated juvenile was transported for medical treatment from the scene of a Gardnerville Halloween eve party where 10 minors were cited for drinking alcohol.

Deputies responded to 1377 Bryan Lane at 10:55 p.m. Saturday and found one juvenile unresponsive in the bathroom. Paramedics were called to the scene and the juvenile was transported to Carson Valley Medical Center with a .25 blood alcohol content, three times the legal limit. After helping the juvenile, deputies sorted out the rest of the guests at the party citing those who had consumed alcohol.

Preliminary breath tests revealed that four of the juveniles were over the legal limit of .08.

The homeowner, Kenneth Knight, told deputies that he was unaware that the juveniles had access to alcohol.

According to the police report, Knight said he knew the party was going on, but he was at a neighbor's house.

Deputies issued Knight a citation for 10 counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and ordered him to appear in East Fork Justice Court on Nov. 29.
