Horse Racing: Lookin at Lucky set for Breeders' run

Lookin at Lucky, the race horse owned by Carson Valley Inn and Bodines owner Mike Pegram, will try to continue its banner year Saturday at the Breeders' Cup Classic at Churchill Downs in Kentucky.

Lookin at Luck won the Preakness Stakes earlier this year, but people in the racing world are saying the Saturday's Classic will boast one of the most challenging and competitive fields in quite some time.

Among the favorites in the 12-horse field is Zenyatta, who won last year's Breeder's Cup and is undefeated in 19 career races. Lookin at Lucky has won his last three races and six this past year while piling up $1.7 million in earnings.

Both the Carson Valley Inn and Bodines will be showing the race throughout the casinos on Saturday. Casino officials are hoping to be able to link up with Pegram and trainer Bob Baffert via Skype to get their comments directly from Churchill Downs.

Both Bodines and CVI were packed during Lookin at Lucky's runs in the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness as people came to cheer on the horse with the local ties.

The race is slated to start at 3:20 p.m. Saturday.
