The R-C Morning Report

The parents of a 5-month-old son face up to 10 years in prison this morning after they admitted to attempted child abuse or neglect causing substantial bodily harm. Jeremy Taylor, 28, and Marie Youmans, 27, each pleaded guilty on Sept. 7 to abusing the child, but neither one would say who fractured their son's skull or caused cuts and bruises. The couple could be eligible for probation if judged not to be at a high risk to re-offend. The parents were arrested July 11 after they brought the baby to Carson Tahoe Regional Healthcare because they said he had a rash.

The snow level is supposed to hit the valley floors early Wednesday morning leaving a light dusting, but also possibly making for another slick commute, according to the National Weather Service. Most of the moisture is expected to fall north of Highway 50. For today we've got partly sunny skies and a high temperature of 51 degrees. The storm's not going to arrive until this afternoon.
