Angora standoff resolved

A standoff on Angora Drive was resolved at about 1:30 p.m. when Douglas County's Crisis Negotiation Team successfully talked him into surrendering.

Deputies received an initial report at 9:05 a.m. that the 66-year-old man was contemplating suicide.

Deputies closed off Angora Drive and set up the negotiation team to communicate with him.

After several hours, the man agreed to come out.

No shots were fired, the man never brandished a weapon at deputies and no one was injured.

The man was taken by family members to a mental health facility.
