Main Street Gardnerville urges residents to shop locally

Main Street Gardnerville has issued a call to residents to support the town by shopping for gifts at local businesses first.

Main Street Gardnerville's small, independent businesses offer merchandise one can't find at national retailers, competitive prices, and great customer service - all within the charming historic atmosphere of downtown, said Main Street Program Manager Paula Lochridge.

The third annual Merry Main Street program is underway with open houses and specials.

"This is a great way to save on unique items and gift ideas for friends and loved ones, plus, you'll have a chance to win some great prize packages, valued at over $300 each, courtesy of your downtown businesses," Lochridge said. "You can check out the variety of prizes you can win in the Winter Wonderland Window in the building next door to Sharkey's Casino."

Participating Merry Main Street Businesses include 2nd Chance Furniture Consignment, The Angler's Edge, Battle Born Wine, Candles n' Crafts, Cheshire Antiques, CJS Floors, Classical Glass & Gifts, Country Carousel, East Fork Gallery, Especially For You, Fresh Ideas, Heirloom Antiques, Horse'n Around Western Gifts & Collectibles, Joyce's Fine Jewelry, Nutrition Unlimited, Pamper U ~ Exquisite Massage, Ruby Rose City & Saddle Clothes, Sapphire Wizard Fired Arts and Sharkey's Casino.
