One of three men arrested on Aug. 20 is to appear in Douglas County District Court on drug sales charges. David Karl Opsteegh, 25, was arrested on two counts of sales of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance. He was jailed on $25,500 bail.
The Record-Courier's Web site and the Running Commentary R2C2, have been recognized by the Nevada Press Association as the top of their class. The newspaper received awards for both at the association's annual banquet, which was in Pahrump this year. The R-C received second place for general excellence.
It will be sunny, but cool with a high of 77 degrees and a light breeze later in the day. The week is on track to warm up into the upper 80s by Friday.
