Volleyball: Douglas sweeps McQueen

After battling an upstart McQueen squad before coming back from four points down to win the first game, the Douglas volleyball team raced ahead to a three-game win in Minden Tuesday night, 26-24, 25-14, 25-20.


Shannon Dugan continued her blazing senior year, putting up 15 kills to go with seven digs and a block while senior Emily Garcia broke out with eight kills and four blocks.


Keely Latham added killsd and two blocks and Erin Allison had another block and a kill.


Brenna White had five kills, Savannah Wood had four kills and Jackie Harper, Carly McCullough and Dani Trujillo each had one.


Harper dished out 37 assists and a block while Trujillo had two assists and a block.


Mia Townsell recorded 11 digs, Harper had six, White had five, McCullough had four, Nikki Chavez had three and Heidi Schefcik had two.


Chavez and Trujillo each had an ace as Douglas improved to 5-0 in league play.
