Genoa, Nev. — State workers are on a two-hour delay this morning because a couple of semis are overturned on Interstate 580 from the high winds. Blowing snow and ice on the roads isn’t helping matters.

What was likely to be a wind-related outage affected 174 Minden homes and businesses around 7 p.m. last night, according to NV Energy. About 19 NV Energy customers at Stateline have their power out this morning.

I’m seeing a peak wind gust of 54 mph 11:15 p.m. Monday at Minden-Tahoe Airport. Fish Springs had a couple of 50 mph gusts this morning. The high wind warning expires at 7 a.m.

Carson Valley Medical Center’s expansion will undergo what is likely to be its only public review 4:30 p.m. today at the Gardnerville Town Board. The town meets in its offices at 1407 Main St.

A 12-year-old girl was found safe last night after she walked away from an Indian Hills church. One person was transported by Care Flight from a rollover collision near Deer Run Road around 1 p.m. Monday. Apparently, the vehicle went through the fence on the Washoe Tribe Ranch. I’m following up on that.

I’m scheduled to speak at Minden Rotary 11:30 a.m. today, but with 10 cases in district court this morning I don’t see any possibility I’ll be done in time to make the meeting. From the notice, I see they hope to have Sparks City Councilman Kristopher Dahir speaking at the COD Casino. My sincere apologies and congratulations on their first meeting of the year.

We may have already hit today’s forecast high of 45 degrees in places around the Valley. There’s a slight chance of rain before 10 a.m. The south wind will slow down some to 15-25 mph gusting to 35 mph.
