Art association show is Nov. 4-6

Artists are being invited to participate in the Carson Valley Art Association’s annual Scholarship Judged Art Show Nov. 4-6 at the CVIC Hall in Minden.

In addition to the show, there will be a 50/50 raffle and silent auction

This annual show will be judged by award winning artist Terri Sweeney.

Each category: oil, acrylic, watercolor, dry media (graphite, pastel, pen and ink, etc.), mixed media, photography, 3D (sculpture, gourd art, pottery) and other (includes Digital art, mosaic, fabric, etc.) will have a first, second, third and honorable mention ribbons awarded. A 50/50 raffle and a silent auction will be held to support the association’s scholarship program.

A minor masterpiece table will be available where the public is invited to purchase various art items that are priced under $75.

“Sales at the CVAA shows are always brisk making this a wonderful venue for the sale of your best art,” organizer Irene Taylor said.

Empty Bowls will be displayed as an addition to the art show with a donation box. Empty Bowls donations support Carson Valley Community Food Closet.

Artist registration forms can be found at the GadZooks Gallery, Heartstrings, Lone Tree Framing, Custom Framing, East Fork Gallery and Nevada Art Association in Carson City. Registration forms must accompany the submitted art 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 3 at the CVIC Hall. Each artist is allowed three entries. Fees are $8 each piece for members and $15 each piece for nonmembers. Art must be framed, or gallery wrapped and wired to be hung. No saw tooth hangers or uni-frames.

Accepted work hung in the show must be picked up 3-4 p.m. Nov. 6.
