It’s the first day of school in Douglas County, which means there will be buses rolling and school zone lights flashing across Carson Valley. Watch out for children making their way to class.

There’s a report of a vehicle vs. boulders collision on Tioga Pass Road and Highway 395 on the California Highway Patrol board that occurred around 5:20 a.m. Monday.

A 3.15 magnitude earthquake was recorded above Walker at 7:30 p.m. Sunday. A 5.1 magnitude earthquake struck near Los Angeles around five hours earlier.  Between the shaking and the water, definitely keep an eye out for fallen rocks.

A demonstration of beach cleaning robot BeBot at South Lake Tahoe’s Conolley Beach was canceled due to weather this morning. Even a robot may find a challenge in sifting wet sand.

There’s a possibility of more rain before 11 a.m. with showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m., which could produce localized heavy precipitation. Otherwise, expect partly sunny skies with a high near 74 degrees. The wind will shift to the west at 5-15 mph gusting to 25 mph.
