Genoa, Nev. — The Eagles and Agriculture Falconer’s Dinner is 5:30 p.m. today at the CVIC Hall in Minden. I don’t know if there are still tickets available, but if there are they’ll be at www.carsonvalleynv.org/eagles-ag/

The Sierra weather may have frightened off some of the folks who attend the event from out of town, which means you might luck into a ticket on a tour. It couldn’t hurt to look.

Douglas County Sheriff’s Search & Rescue was busy herding out of bounds skiers on Thursday afternoon. I wager with the possibility of nice weather today, there will be a lot more of those calls today and Saturday.

There were four collisions on Thursday morning from the one I reported on Spooner around 6 a.m., another two miles east of Glenbrook around 8 a.m. Another halfway up Kingsbury around 10:45 a.m. and another at Highway 50 and Lake Parkway around 11:10 a.m. If you’re headed into the mountains, be careful.

The next storm with any snow looks to be on track to arrive in Carson Valley around 4 a.m. Sunday before clearing on Monday, leaving lows in single digits. There might be a couple of inches of powder falling at lower elevations.

For today and Saturday, expect mostly sunny skies with the high temperatures approaching the upper 40s. It’s going to be nice out for a bit and then it’s going to get real cold.
