Genoa, Nev. — A public hearing to issue $3 million in medium-term bonds to purchase fire equipment and improve goes before East Fork Fire Protection District directors 1 p.m. today at the district offices on County Road.


Directors are also scheduled to conduct Fire Chief Tod Carlini’s annual personnel review today. In his statement to the board, Carlini said that he believes this just might be his last review before he retires late in 2024.


A rollover collision at Highway 395 and Virginia Ranch Road around 8 a.m. Monday south of Gardnerville resulted in one person possibly transported for injuries. I reached out to the NHP, but I haven’t heard back.


East Fork firefighters responded to the second RV fire in a 11 days over the weekend. Maybe check your RV and make sure it’s fire safe, just in case.


The air quality sensors in Carson Valley were in the yellow for moderate last night, so not quite as smoky as predicted or over the last two nights. Minden-Tahoe Airports automated weather system shows visibility remained around 10 miles most of the night.


It will continue to be warm through the end of the work week with cooler weather and the tiniest chance of rain in the forecast for Sunday. Thursday is forecast to hit 83 degrees in Minden.


Today expect sunny skies and a high around 77 degrees. The wind will pick up out of the north around 5 mph this afternoon.
