Genoa, Nev. — I got word late this morning that the apartment project north of Riverview along Highway 395 is seeking a continuance from Gardnerville Town Board members for their zone change request.


A BMX track proposed for BLM land near the Douglas County Fairgrounds is scheduled to go before the Douglas County Parks & Recreation Advisory Board 6 p.m. today at the Douglas County Community & Senior Center.


A letter posted on social media seems to indicate that Carson Tahoe Healthcare may be seeking to terminate its contract for service reimbursement with United Healthcare Insurance Co., and its affiliates, Northern Nevada Health Network, Inc. and Optum. I’ve reached out to the folks at Carson Tahoe to verify the letter.


New Minden-Tahoe Airport Manager Heather MacDonnell will update members of the Airport Advisory Committees on work done at the airport 6 p.m. today at the Douglas County Courthouse. You can find out more at douglascountynv.gov and clicking agendas.


Douglas County Sheriff’s Search & Rescue team members retrieved a snowboarder who lost contact with his party after leaving the gate at FireBreak. He called early enough so searchers could conduct a daytime rescue.


Today’s forecast calls for partly sunny skies and a high near 48 degrees. The south wind is expected to hit 5-15 mph, shifting southwest this afternoon.
