The sidewalk is closed in front of the Ironwood Center. Ironwood will be closed next week for utility work ahead of an overlay on Highway 395.

There will be a road closure for a portion of Ironwood Drive March 18-22.

The closure will be from in front of the Minden Gardnerville Sanitation District to Pinewood Drive.

The closure is due to sewer line maintenance and rehabilitation, and to stay ahead of overlay work on Highway 395 between Ironwood and Clear Creek to be conducted by the state.

The Record-Courier has reached out to the state to find out details about that upcoming work.

Long stretches of Highway 395 will be undergoing road construction starting this spring.

Workers are conducting utility work on Main Street in Gardnerville, which included softening the S curve in downtown. The road is down to two lanes either way and motorists are urged to use alternative routes.

Highway 395 through the Pine Nuts south of Leviathan Mine Road is also seeing reduced lanes as workers prepare for resurfacing.
