Mother’s Day may be Sunday, but Saturday is all about Big Mama’s.

Last year, nearly 250 cars are signed up for the 22nd annual Big Mama’s Show & Shine 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in Lampe Park.

The annual event benefits Young at Heart and features scores of vintage vehicles 45 years and older.

Visit youngatheartseniorcitizens.org for more information.

Unlike last weekend, Saturday is forecast to be sunny with a high temperature in the upper 70s with the wind calm picking up out of the north to around 5 mph.

The May 4 winter storm prompted the postponement of the usual opening car show of spring. The 11th annual Holy Smokers Car Show and Barbecue will be May 18 when more mild weather is expected.

Located across Douglas Avenue from the church, the entry fee is $25 with registration starting at 8 a.m.

Lunch is $15 a person and starts at 11:30 a.m., with pulled pork, beans, potato salad coleslaw and lemonade.

Proceeds benefit local Carson Valley nonprofits. Visit www.trinitygv.com for more information.
