Ninth Judicial District Court Judge Tod Young recently attended the Nevada District Judge’s Conference in Las Vegas. While at that conference Judge Young was presented with an award for Advanced Achievement in Judicial Education, having completed more than 440 hours of continuing education.

Nevada District judges are required to complete continuing education in many subjects including family law, medical malpractice, ethics, substance abuse and others.

“While I greatly appreciate the recognition from the Supreme Court, what is most important is that the public have confidence that the judges in their community making life changing decisions are well trained and keep abreast of changes in the law and the recent decisions of the Supreme Courts of our state and our country” said Young.
